Faith | ^ How do you find out all that stuff? I love Suzanne White's book The New Astrology. She combines the Western and simple Chinese sign (animal only) into 144 profiles. It's really good! I'm a Capricorn wood rabbit. Rabbits are like Pisces, except we are a little more interested in academics and money than your average Pisces. Sensitive, and that translates into a keen awareness of what's going on emotionally with people, or sensing of "vibes." Both my parents were Rabbits and so is my oldest son, but only my mother and son are the same element. |

The books I've seen do liken Horse to Gemini. But I think the Horse is more about action than a Gemini, and all-around bolder. Gemini has a finer sense with language than Horses...from what I've seen. Just my opinion. |
ail221 | Time to add mine! Year: Metal Horse Month: Water Sheep Day:Wood Monkey Time: Wood Ox Sun: Cancer Moon:Gemini Ascendant: Taurus <---Seeing a correlation with the hour of birth in both zodiacs |

Faith | Thanks, sand! OK if anyone cares I am Year: Yin wood rabbit Month: Yin earth Ox Day: Yin Fire Snake Time: Yang metal, Earth Dog (?) Wow I can make NO sense of that. |
sand | ^try reading earth ox for example to get an understanding. i mean year of the ox in earth element. just remember it is in your month. then do the same for snake and dog. and then search ding fire daymaster. it's your element for day and the polarity.. my fav site for daymasters is gone now so the more boring readings are left. i remember ding fire was likened to a candle and close to mother. bing fire is the independent modern woman. The Ding Fire Day Master personality in a nutshell is gentle, philosophical and loving. You are meticulous and learned, with hidden depths of surprising power. You illuminate the path for yourself and for others. more info in the link.. http://www.masteryacademy.com/estore/itemdetail.asp?iid=362 |

Betty Boop | sand - what does that opposition mean? I don't know anything about this. |
YoursTrulyAlways | The whole Ba Zi thing is so convoluted. I've given up trying to understand. |

I find it very general...I've bought the books. I have a funny one called: Snarling Tiger, Dirty Rat: A Short and Nasty Guide to Embracing Your Inner Beast. |

haha it is pretty hard! can't even read my own chart well. i have given up too since i know what is in store for me. it doesn't matter so much anymore. plus since i wasn't brought up chinese(i'm spanish too) i hafta memorize the symbols 1st.. but my only intention at studying it anyway is so that i can understand what the reader is doing and perhaps discard what is his/ her personal bias. maybe you could pay for a reading when you get back home if you ever still do? i see lots readers online from singapore. i also pick up a lot from just talking to her but it's still pretty basic. the last bits of info i picked up was that there was something similar to mutable/ fixed depending if you were a single element or double/ triple element but DOH i failed to ask what a single element was. perhaps if you have 1 of each. like say wood, metal, fire, earth. that would be single element. MAYBE.. but if you had wood wood wood metal that would be triple. single- fixed double/triple- mutable. i guess there is no cardinal coz i was just correlating them. she didn't know western astro. it's the relationships they get right compared to western IMO. like they say you had this clash when you were 9-19 and we're rebellious or punished yourself.. etc.. whereas western fudges it abit with the threads "is sun/moon represented by the mother/father but can also represent mother if father is not present?" i've had a basic western astro reading too but iv gotten much more here. chinese astro cannot tell you much about how you think (merc), love (venus), act (mars), and feel (moon) tho.. |
sand | quote: Originally posted by Betty Boop: sand - what does that opposition mean? I don't know anything about this.
i only know it coz i'm a rat year (doesn't mean i don't get along with horses, i do but not 24/7)so i know what animal clashes with mine. the day pillar is actually the most important here. quote: Six Clashes (Opposition)Rat Horse Ox Goat Tiger Monkey Rabbit Rooster Dragon Dog Snake Pig The information you see here only allows you to identify the clashes. In order to decode or understand what is going on in a Bazi chart, you must have a good understanding of the Five Elements and their interactions. It is very important to first determine which of the Five Factors (Influence, Wealth, Resource, Output, and Companion) are being affected and which Hidden Stem is involved, when trying to determine how severe a clash is.
http://lizamlee.com/efengshui/clash_codes.htm quote: A clash to the Day Branch is usually much-feared as it typically denotes marital or spousal problems. However, a clash to the Day Branch could simply mean a change in residence or renovations to the home. Alternatively, it could also mean hurting the lower part of the body or perhaps even surgery.Parents especially, should be wary of a clash to the Hour Branch as this denotes issues (for example, separation) with one’s children. As one’s subordinates are also akin to one’s children, a clash to the Hour Branch can also denote a turnover in subordinates or even the type of work that a person does. Besides these, a clash to the Hour Branch can cause a feeling of unease and unsettling thoughts for the person experiencing the clash.
